“HAPPY NEW YEAR”
SUNDAY, January 3, 2015
9:00 am – Sunday School
10:30 am – Worship Service – Bread & Cup
Sanctuary: “What’s on God’s Heart”
Scripture: Nehemiah 1:1-2:10
Thoughts on the Word: I want us to start the new year off with a visit to an old friend, the Old Testament prophet, Nehemiah. We will start our visit by asking the question, “What’s on God’s heart?” His words to his people of long ago are still challenging and worthwhile for the Church today. The key to understanding and making sense of the entire book of Nehemiah can be summed up in one verse, verse 4 says: “When I heard these things I sat down and wept. For some days I mourned and fasted and prayed before the God of heaven.” I want to invite you to join me on this visit to our old friend and get to know him all over again. If this is your first visit with Nehemiah I invite you to read through his book and glean from it what God has to say to us through our friend, Nehemiah. Blessings and peace to you as the new year begins. Pastor Don

ATTENTION: Volunteer-driven fundraiser needs more postage
Your help is needed for a group of volunteers called, “stampers”, as they are most often called. The Brethren Home/Cross Keys Village “stampers” meet two mornings a week to trim and remove stamps from envelopes. These used stamps are assembled in packets for re-sale to collectors. The money raised goes to Good Samaritan Fund or funds to benefit the residents. Fewer stamps are coming in since e-mail and other electronic means of communication. You can help by placing your cut off or torn off stamps and put them in a box outside the church office window with stamps pictured on box. I will take them to the Brethren Home. This project continues all year long. Thanks for your help. Keyperson-Anna Miller
