JULY 24-28, 2016 ~ CAVE QUEST: FOLLOWING JESUS THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD – July 24 – 28, 6:00 – 8:30
The week of VBS is finally here! We have a great group of volunteers who are excited to share God’s Word with children from our church and from the community. Our congregation has been most generous with donations for snack time, dinner and supplies/gift items for VBS and for our service project, Operation Christmas Child. Thank you!!! The congregation is invited to our Closing Celebration on Thursday, July 28, beginning with dinner at 6:00 PM, followed by a chalk talk by Joe Hurst and our VBS wrap-up. We would love to have you join us! Many hands are needed to help take down decorations on Friday, July 29, beginning at 9:00 AM. Please meet in the sanctuary if you are able to help. We are so grateful for the many gifts of time and talents you share!

MENNONITE DISASTER SERVICE is announcing an two employment opportunities at the Binational office in Lititz, PA.
1) Mennonite Disaster Service (MDS), Lititz PA, is looking for a multi-tasking and self-motivated Executive Assistant to directly support the Executive Director, Board, and Leadership team members. The role requires attention to detail, efficient organizational skills and the ability to balance competing priorities. Applicants must be active in an Anabaptist church and committed to the Anabaptist faith and peace position.
2) Mennonite Disaster Service (MDS) is seeking a full time Development Manager in the Lititz, PA office. In this new position, the manager will effectively shape and execute the development plan and implement the information technology systems to support the function. AUGUST 11, 2016 – OWLS PICNIC ~ SUMMERTIME! Time for the annual OWLS INDOOR PICNIC! A great time to gather in the COOL, ANT-FREE, Homebuilders Classroom 154 at noon on Thursday August 11 for lots of good food and fellowship. Hamburgers and hot-dogs are provided. Please indicate what side dish you will bring when you sign-up. PLEASE ADD YOUR NAME TO THE SIGNUP SHEET IN THE NARTHEX BY SUNDAY AUGUST 7 so we know how many to prepare for!

Sign up in the narthex to make a casserole or to work at the Soup Kitchen on Friday, August 12, 2016 (10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.) PLEASE add your name and number of casseroles, to the SIGN UP sheet, so we can let the Soup Kitchen know how many casseroles to expect.
AUGUST 13, 2016 – The Friends of Cross Keys Village-The Brethren Home Community 56th Annual BBQ, Auction, Car Show, and Bake Sale – Saturday, August 13TH – 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, Nicarry Meetinghouse & Campus. Come participate in all the fun & food! There will be chicken BBQ, pork BBQ, pie & ice cream, homemade baked & bread items. Vendors offering lots of goodies ~ from kettle corn, hamburgers, hot dogs, funnel cakes & more. Other activities to enjoy ~ kids activity area, hot rod car show, live auction, and entertainment. Don’t pass up the “Previously Read” book sale! It’s a family event, so there’s something for everyone! All proceeds benefit The Friends of CKV-TBHC.
Auction Items Needed ~ The Auction Committee at Cross Keys Village, The Brethren Home Community it looking for quality auction items to be donated. (Please no yard sale items.) The better the items, the better the auction and the better the contribution to the Good Samaritan Fund. So check in your closets, garage, china cabinet, drawers and under the bed for that item that will once again be loved by someone. Items should be able to attract bids of at least $ 25. AUGUST 18, 2016 – NEW WINDOSR WORK DAY ~ There will be a work day in New Windsor on Thursday, August 18th. We will be in the Material Resources area (which is air conditioned), working with the kits that are donated from all over the country. Our job will be to check that they have been put together correctly and ready for shipment around the world. As usual, we will meet at the church at 7:15 a.m. and return by 5:00 p.m. Lunch is provided there at the New Windsor Service Center. Hope you can join us. AUGUST 18, 2016 ~ 20TH ANNUAL FORE CHILDREN GOLF BENEFIT ~ Thursday, August 18th. This tournament benefits Children’s Aid Society’s therapy services for at risk children. Funds raised make it possible for us to provide therapy services for low income children.
