The way of Jesus is the way of the Cross. The winding route through Old Jerusalem known as the Via Dolorosa (way of sorrow) marks out the path Jesus took from the site of his trial to the place of his crucifixion. Each year Christians from around the world journey to Jerusalem to follow the way of the cross, stopping to reflect and pray along the way.
On Monday through Friday, April 10 through April 14, the way of the cross will wind through our sanctuary. You are encouraged to set aside an hour or so during our Holy Week celebration to walk the way of the cross that winds through the sanctuary. There will be 14 places along the way where you are invited to pause for a time of reflection and prayer.
Here are the times the sanctuary will be open for your prayer journey during Holy Week:
April 10 – From 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM
April 11 – From 8:00 Am to 8:00 PM
April 12 – From 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM
April 13 – From 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
April 14: – From 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM
On the final day of this prayer journey our entire church family is encouraged to gather in the sanctuary for a special Good Friday prayer service called a Concert of Prayer.
