Thoughts on the Word: This message is my final message to you as your pastor. My prayer for you is that the message of Christmas, the birth of Jesus, will shine even more brightly in your witness and love for each other, the community, and yourselves. God loves you and wants you to love each other. Simple words, yet very difficult to live out because we are imperfect vessels and yet God chooses to place his Son, our Lord, Jesus within us, as his Church. You have blessed and been very generous to me and my family and for this I will forever praise God, the giver of every good and perfect gift. God bless you all and Merry Christmas. Pastor Don
Poinsettia Pick Up: If you purchased a poinsettia and interested in taking it home, please pick it up after the Christmas Eve or Christmas Day services. If you did not purchase one or interested in more, please wait a few minutes after the Christmas Day service to pick one up, so that everyone that purchased one has the chance to get one. This is on the honor system. If you are interested in getting your poinsettia but unable to attend the Christmas Eve or Christmas Day services please contact Tim Beckwith to make arrangements. Any poinsettias left after the Christmas Day service will be donated. Thank you!

Operation Christmas Child – Several members have asked about the distribution of the Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes that were completed as our Vacation Bible School service project. About 35-40 shoe boxes were completed during VBS. $300 of the monetary contributions received during VBS was sent to Samaritan’s Purse for the processing of the boxes and $19 was used to purchase a few additional items for the boxes. $19 goes a long way at the Dollar Store! Emma took boxes to First Priority Prayer Club at Dallastown, so more boxes were added to the total. Carol and Ken took the completed boxes to a local drop off location at a church in Red Lion in November. John and Mary Esther Anderson, Judy Yingling and I had the privilege of helping to process the shoeboxes at a Processing Center in Odenton, MD. We’d be happy to share our experiences with you. The pallets of processed boxes are placed on sea going containers, go through customs in the countries where they are distributed and are distributed all year long. The boxes collected in 2016 will be distributed in 2017. Here is a web site for OCC – https://www.samaritanspurse.org/operation-christmas-child/the-journey-of-a-shoebox/ – and for Danniella’s Story – http://video.samaritanspurse.org/good-news-danniellas-story/ – a beautiful personal story sharing more about the mission. Danniella’s story was shown in church the week after VBS. Hope this helps answer any questions you have. Thanks! Judy Deitch
