SPIRITUAL RENEWAL: We look forward to our 2nd Spiritual Renewal Congregational Luncheon this coming SUNDAY, (February 21st) following worship (snow date is the 28th). The youth will be preparing lunch for us and we want to extend the invitation to everyone to stay and be a part of this uplifting event in the life or our church. The emphasis will be on “Spiritual Appreciation.” We pray that you will choose to be a part of this Spiritual Appreciation luncheon experience.
And now the final four. The four upward disciplines. They are: Confession, Worship, Guidance and Celebration.
Confession: We bring our lives before God, seek God’s forgiveness, and seek to forgive others.
Worship: We express the worth of God; praising and adoring, confessing, receiving pardon, listening to a challenge, and responding, “Here am I. Send me!” Worship is vital to the renewal of people and of the church.
Guidance: Can be on an individual or a group basis. It incorporates the discipline of dialogue.
Celebration: The Christian life is joyful. We remember the life-giving breath of the gospel.
So now you have them . . . all twelve Spiritual Disciplines: Meditation, Prayer, Fasting, Study, Simplicity, Solitude, Submission, Service, Confession, Worship, Guidance and Celebration.
We hope to see you on Sunday after worship. –The Spiritual Renewal Team
