SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 20, 2015 – York First Celebrates Peace Day 9:00 am – Sunday School
10:30 am – Worship Service
Sanctuary: “The Greatest”
Scripture: Mark 9: 30-37
Thoughts on the Word: Our Lectionary texts for this week are found in Psalm 1, Proverbs 31:10-31, James 3:13-4:3, 7-8a, and Marks Gospel 9:30-37. I share these texts with you for your consideration in preparation for worship this Sunday. True wisdom is found in service to others, in generosity of spirit, and in doing the work that God calls all of us to do. The fruit of true wisdom is peacefulness, gentleness, and righteousness. The Lord Jesus is close to those who seek God with a whole heart. May it be so for each of us this week and always.
